Lisa, The Educator of the whyaye mob, attended CreatorCon on day one of the ServiceNow, Now at Work London conference. This is typically a day earmarked for developers and the more technical gurus out there, but this year it took on a different feel and was open to anyone who wanted to learn more about developing apps on the Now platform.
The day was certainly aligned to ServiceNow’s strategy about no-code, low-code development and that really anyone can build on the platform – even Lisa.
The day kicked off with a keynote from Chris Pope, Vice President of Innovation at ServiceNow, who emphasised that the way we engage with technology, applications and service in our personal lives is not being matched in the workplace and we need to change the way people work. There is a need to automate processes and workflows to deliver excellent experiences to colleagues. This message was brought to light with a demo to demonstrate how easy and quick it can be to build useful applications on the Now Platform for employees.
For the remainder of the day at CreatorCon, Lisa attended different sessions including building an application from a spreadsheet, enabling Virtual Agent and making use of Machine Learning. These sessions proved you don’t need to be a hardcore developer to build on the platform and by enabling such technology, how you can change the employee experience and make working life better and easier… and maybe that little more fun.
The day ended with an invitation to attend an ‘Innovation Experience’ hosted by the ServiceNow Innovation team. All the whyaye mob members were joined with some colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group to immerse themselves in an experience that brought the power of the Now Platform to a new level.
We witnessed the ability to book a meeting room in seconds via an integration with Microsoft teams, order a laptop via the use of Siri, and build a no-code expense application in minutes. The experience was an excellent opportunity to really see how we can change the way we work, and we would like to say thank you to the ServiceNow Innovation team for creating a wonderful experience and inviting us along to participate.
